Local cycling routes pt. 2

Halton Hilly Hundred

Challenging, scenic, rewarding, and certainly fun! This hilly route takes you twice over Mount Nemo and three times over Rattlesnake point. It then puts the exclamation mark on the climbing section with an ascent up the infamous 6th line, at the 105km mark. Traversing over the Niagara Escarpment multiple times makes for a picturesque ride, so be sure to have your smartphone on hand. Also, see if you can find the 8% false flat. Enjoy this ride as a great hill-training route, or as a randonneuring outing with friends. Carlisle, Lowville, Cambellville, and Haltonville, provide fuel and rest stops on this epic ride.

This 105km ride takes you across, minimal hard top, and plenty of rail trail, gravel roads, snowmobile trails, and single track. As you roll along the rural regions of Centre Wellington and Woolwich, there are plenty of scenic points along the route including vistas of the Grand River, a covered bridge, the historic village of Elora, the iconic castle on Middlebrook rd. You can rest and refresh in Elora, Fergus, and Belwood. Be sure to get butter tarts from Belwood General store!!! This fun ride is best enjoyed as a fall colours tour.

This is a 34.74 km route in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. The route has a total ascent of 144.27 m and has a maximum elevation of 349.51 m. It is a nice shortish route if you are worried about the weather or just feel like you don't want to stray too far from home!

A great multi surface route that takes you up the Kissing Bridge trail and towards Inverhaugh to check out the castle and some great gravel roads! Low traffic, great scenery & awesome riding
